Orbitalum Tools develops and produces portable tube saws, tube facing machines,
pipe end preparation machines, computer controlled orbital welding power sources as well as closed and open weld heads. There are numerous areas of application.

The spectrum ranges from the construction of process plants (ultra pure media e.g. semiconductor, electronic, pharmaceutical and biotechnology; chemical, food and beverage industry, aviation and aerospace technology, shipbuilding), includes the construction of energy plants (power plants, refineries, oil, gas and petrochemical industry) and even utilities (water and gas supply, heating, air conditioning and cooling, as well as sprinkler).

Orbitalum Tools GmbH, formerly known as Georg Fischer Rohrverbindungstechnik GmbH, was an independent subsidiary within the Georg Fischer Piping Systems group of companies since its foundation in the year 1960 until 2005, with its head office in Schaffhausen (CH). Since January 1st 2006, Orbitalum Tools GmbH belongs to the US American industrial company Illinois Tool Works Inc. (ITW). ITW, founded in 1912, consists today of approx. 700 business units in 48 countries around the world. Famous trade marks and products are e.g. HOBART Food Equipment, Systems and Service, PASLODE and SPIT Construction Products, SIGNODE Packaging Systems.

Orbitalum Tools is now a part of the ITW Welding Group, which is world market leader in welding products (MILLER ELECTRIC, HOBART), TIG torches and accessories (WELD-CRAFT), welding consumables and gas equipment (HOBART, ELGA) and automated welding equipment (JETLINE).

have been merged to the new “Orbitalum Tools GmbH”. The well-known brandname “Orbimatic” continues as a brandname within the Orbitalum Tools GmbH for orbital welding equipment.
